COMMERCIAL FLIGHT EVACUATION
AeroMed provides patient repatriation services on a scheduled airline for patients who are bed-bound but medically stable, even if they are seriously ill or on life support. A commercial flight repatriation can be a cost-effective option as compared to an air ambulance option. Our medical team support the patient during the whole evacuation process, from meeting the patient in the treating hospital, facilitating the discharge, then accompany the patient to the airport in a ground ambulance or suitable vehicle, arrange airline check-in and embarkation.
As standard procedure, AeroMed arranges stretcher space, medical oxygen, ground support and road ambulance. Once on the air, the medical team will provide the necessary medical care on board the aircraft, while continuously monitoring the condition of the patient. Carried onboard are all medications/drugs and medical equipment specific to the mission, whether for advanced life support or just to monitor the patient’s general condition. The patient is isolated from the rest of the passengers on board by a special private curtained area. This service is available on selected domestic and international airlines.
